I tried to use current implementation, but with no luck. So I decided to ask AI to reimplement it for me, which it hereby done.
I verified it not only by unit tests, but also by comparing results with the "official" images on https://blurha.sh. The results are not identical but close enough to my taste. An example (https://blurha.sh/e08adedc9f82ade9f9d5.jpg):
