I'm using ISE 14.7 in a project.

I created a new library called "ieee_proposed" and added all the sources from this git repository.

When synthesizing I get:

Process "Synthesize - XST" failed

Any suggestions?

solved myself: (technically I used other sources on the web to come to this conclusion and step-by-step guide)

  1. click process > process properties
  2. set the property display level to "advanced"
  3. in the option field for "other simulation commands" add: -use_new_parser yes

If you then synthesize it should work.
Additional issue that may arise:
cannot open file "/opt/Xilinx/14.2/ISE_DS/ISE/vhdl/xst/lin64/ieee_proposed/ieee_proposed.vdbl
This can be solved in ubuntu by opening a terminal in the /opt/Xilinx folder (in this case) and type:
sudo chmod 777 -R 14.2/
