On some devices, having jzlib enabled (as of 22e4653) seems to cause data corruption:

01-29 17:55:12.608: D/SMACK(3212): 05:55:12 PM RCV  (1110281344): </group></item><itepurnd 159ddc1xxxxx@example.com" name="Paul Jenkins"id="dafo321@ap/id="bn="both"><group>Friends</group></item></query>available xmlnwww.ignxusrealte="am</grou></ts/smite/#09HbR68oIaH8oD1aNkbNFXDOFmA=></iq>

This issue needs to be investigated (the author's devices all seem to behave).

Might be related to smack+jzlib not working on SMP devices (see also OpenFire).

The issue also happens with recent asmack (using system compression) against prosody, so it must be a SMACK/asmack bug.

This has been worked around by disabling compression in a7a5f29 a long time ago. Closing.
