Pharo 7 crash on OS X while idle in background (possibly hibernated) #3151

I started a Pharo 7 image yesterday and left it running 'overnight', i.e. my MacBook went to sleep and because of low battery might have hibernated. Today, while busy using Firefox (no activity in Pharo), the message appeared that Pharo quit unexpectedly.

Please see the report data attached.

Edit: I'm running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G5019).

I am on macOS 10.14.4 on a MacBook Pro with 3 pharo 7 images open all the time, over sleep/wake cycles. That works fine for weeks.

But there have been similar error reports.

Changing fonts and/or going full screen seem to trigger problems (I avoid that). The assumption is that this is related to the FreeType code.

Hi Sven,

Yes, I was using fullscreen with my image. I find it very useful to work in fullscreen, since it is very user-friendly to switch between desktops with a 3-finger swipe on the trackpad.

Would be nice if we could get this stabilized. Sorry I can't help with this...

I've seen this before too - I get it less now - I think it might be FreeType but I'm curious if you ever saved that image? If not, can you repeat - but save your image after going full screen - I suspect the save helps/clears something. If it still crashes, repeat again but don't use full screen (try alt-green to just max the window - this is what I did, but I think it might just be the save that makes the difference).

The FreeType issue is being worked on, and is tantalisingly close.
