[Firefox] Search in page doesn't work #3172
Comments
In firefox, sometimes search works, and sometimes whatever marker vimium is using for visual and/or search, gets stuck in some far region of the html. For example, in firefox go to https://duckduckgo.com, search for something, then use vc to go into caret mode, hold j to go all the way to the bottom of the page. Now if you try to search for something with /, you may not be able to search for any terms on the page; or if you go back into visual mode with v or V, then you may be trapped in some wonky vimium land that you're unable to get out of. Please allow for gg in visual or caret mode which would jump to the first place visual mode was entered (or something similar) so that we're not trapped. Also, consider allowing u and d and G in visual or caret mode that allow for macro (vs micro) movements. I use uBlock Origin, uMatrix, uBO-Scope, Privacy Badger, and Vimium as my add-ons. I am not sure if that has anything to do with anything, but I'm just putting it out there. |
Does somebody know WHY does this happen? |
Firefox does not support the feature of "wrap-around" when finding is executed by web-extensions (using JavaScript code). Updated: relevant issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672395#c0 |
Search in page can only search 1st instance after pressing enter. I couldn't use n or N to move to next search. The feature works fine in Chrome.
