Q&A

What is this?

It's a website/database thing. You can browse through and search for programming languages based on their individual properties (typing system, adoption, syntax styles, etc.).

That's awesome!

I know, right? I've always found it annoying that there's no single index that covers all the things a language / ecosystem features.

What's the URL?

Well, I actually don't have a place / money to host it yet, so it's not anywhere at the moment. It will be soon, though, I hope.

What do the numbers by some of the properties mean?

Some features are neither true or false, but somewhere in-between. For values that don't quite match "100%" or "0%", they are ranked on a 0 to 3 star ranking.

  • 0 stars = No support (equal to false)
  • 1 star = Pretty crappy support
  • 2 stars = Pretty good support, but not quite complete
  • 3 stars = Complete support (equal to true)
