Tools and templates for PhiMiSci

This page collects tools and templates in use in article production at Philosophy and the Mind Sciences.

Web platforms

  • AI Bibliographer – A prototype web app to automatically generate bibliographical databases from manually typed user input.
  • MMM-web-app – A web app to control conversion and production workflows in a browser.

Templates

  • cookbook – Pandoc defaults for our production cycle
  • latex – A modern LaTeX3 document class to produce articles in our new, two-column layout

Pandoc filters

  • filter-compound-words – A filter to enable hyphenation in compound words in LaTeX/PDF output.
  • filter-hand-written-cites – A filter to detect hand-written APA citations and link them to citations from a given bibliographical database.

Docker components

  • doc2md – Convert doc/docx/odt to Markdown, used in importing accepted submissions into our production cycle
  • xml2yaml – Import XML meta data of articles registered in OJS to our production cycle, representing meta data in YAML
  • typesetting-container – Our production workflows
  • verifybibtex – Check bibliographical databases for common errors
  • tex2pdf – Generate PDFs from LaTeX input
