@germanviscuso

Hi. I have a notebook with Windows 8.1 and after unzipping the distro zip file for Windows and clicking on PhoneGap.exe nothing happens. I can see the process on Task Manager for a few seconds though but the app won't show up.

Have you unblocked the following files?

ffmpegsumo.dll
icudt.dll
libEGL.dll
libGLESv2.dll
nw.pak

You can unblock the files by navigating to the directory where PhoneGap.exe is located; you should see all of the files listed above in the same directory.

To unblock the files:

  1. right click on each individual file and select Properties
  2. under the General tab near the bottom there should be a section called Security with an Unblock button beside it
  3. click the Unblock button
  4. then click the OK button
  5. repeat this for all of the .dll files & the .pak file listed above

After you have unblocked all of the files, you need to run the PhoneGap.exe file as an administrator.

Here are a couple methods to run PhoneGap.exe as an administrator:

First Method:

  1. Right click PhoneGap.exe and select Run as administrator in the menu.

Second Method:

  1. Right click PhoneGap.exe and select Properties
  2. next click on the Compatibility tab
  3. make sure the Run this program as an administrator checkbox is checked
  4. click the OK button
  5. double click on PhoneGap.exe

The second method should make sure that PhoneGap.exe is always run as an administrator.
