Please +1 this issue if you're interested in having a linux distribution. Ideally, add what distro you're using!

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to support another platform. The team is spread pretty thin just maintaining parity with the current Mac and Windows versions of the app. Sorry to those of you that were interested in this, maybe we can revisit in the future.

This project is open source, if the community wishes to get support for Unix/Linux we will happily review submitted pull requests.

We just don't have enough resources to add another platform. We are spread very thin as it is supporting Mac and Windows.

What's the difference between using the cli versus the desktop app? As far as I know, the CLI has more features than the desktop app (therefore why does anyone even need the desktop app for linux? If you can use linux you should be able to use the CLI, making the desktop app redundant.

@hermwong

hermwong commented Nov 28, 2017

@giltee, the Desktop App is essentially a GUI that sits on top of the CLI. Currently the Desktop does not expose all of the CLI features. The main purpose of the Desktop App is for people that prefer GUIs over CLI.
