With only a few notable things to share and not even a terrible dad joke found I decided to roll week 28 into week 29 rather than rush out something that would have been lackluster to read. This week kicked off with the worst heatwave my country has had in decades, this naturally resulted in my office reaching a high of 36°C. We have no air conditioning here so the two days of _extreme_ heat where brutal, but we got through in one piece and by Thursday it was a more reasonable 22°C outside. diff --git a/content/thoughts/2022-07-31-wk-30-in-review.md b/content/thoughts/2022-07-31-wk-30-in-review.md index 2e55beec..1c21bf61 100644 --- a/content/thoughts/2022-07-31-wk-30-in-review.md +++ b/content/thoughts/2022-07-31-wk-30-in-review.md @@ -8,7 +8,6 @@ growthStage: evergreen > _"Thinking is difficult, that's why most people judge"_ > — Carl Gustav Jung -# Story Much like the past two weeks this week feels like it has gone by in a flash! I spent much of my free time this week watching Raptor's YouTube series on Farthest Frontier. I very much enjoyed playing Banished and Farthest Frontier feels like a natural progression with enhanced mechanics such as crop rotation and soil management that appeal to me. On the subject of games I occasionally pine for an Eve Online session, however my gaming PC is still sat in storage while I finish my home office. I haven't played in a few years now, I assume the game has changed a lot in that time. diff --git a/content/thoughts/2022-08-08-wk-31-in-review.md b/content/thoughts/2022-08-08-wk-31-in-review.md index 9049e99f..f6ba540c 100644 --- a/content/thoughts/2022-08-08-wk-31-in-review.md +++ b/content/thoughts/2022-08-08-wk-31-in-review.md @@ -8,7 +8,6 @@ growthStage: evergreen > _"More that cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness"_ > — Charlie Chaplin -# Story I spent a lot of this week watching [Raptor's YouTube series on Farthest Frontier](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTIr4-_mQsE&list=PLIsqJzeZeGYG_TUhB4-ZB4jZgyDBi5KzC). I absolutely love playing [Banished](https://store.steampowered.com/app/242920/Banished/) and [Farthest Frontier](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1044720/Farthest_Frontier/) looks as though it builds upon that theme and then some. Having yet to set up my gaming computer (it's been in storage for two years,) I don't actually have any machine to play this game on, however it released on the 9th August and even though it is considered an "early access game" from watching hours of Raptor's play-through it looks to be very much worth the release price.
