How to avoid getting same album several times when uploading via browser

Hey there,

i am facing the issue that i get several same-named albums when using browser upload feature (under files). There i select an existing album or i just type a name and it creates one. After uploading and indexing (and maybe some additional wait), ill see this album under albums. But it might show it like 3 or 5 or xyz times. Some of them just contain one picture instead of all i did upload.

Is that a known issue? How to avoid that?
Whats best practice to consolidate these albums into one?

We have not observed this yet. It would be great if you could give us some information on your setup.
How did you install PhotoPrism and what version do you run? Do you use our docker image as described here: https://docs.photoprism.app/getting-started/docker-compose/?
How many files did you upload when this happened?
What kind of filesystem do you use?

i am using it with my unraid server. Ive installed the "app" which means its a docker but i didnt really do the docker steps, but just hit install and did a few settings like IP etc.

Ive used Edge browser and did upload all Photos in a row (selecting everything in explorer-popup that comes when clicking upload). In one case i did upload just like 6 photos (each ended up in a seperate album with same name) and other cases are like more than 100, where just one pic ended up in a seperate album (same name again) and all others in another album with same name

As an additional question: How to best migrate these albums? It appears that i cant just select all albums to combine them?!

In order to figure out what might be causing this and to give you a suggestion on how to solve it - can you let us know what database you have configured (sqlite or mariadb) and if you are using a reverse proxy? It would also be helpful to have some examples of album names that are causing this.

I use MariaDB.
No ReverseProxy (not that i know :-D)
Names are like: "Babyparty Name", "DLRG Bezirkstag 2021", "Hochzeit Daniel und Kerstin", "Peter Volleyball"

It looks like it only happens when uploading via "Files - Import" where you then can assign a new or existing Album. If i choose the way via "Albums" and then create a new one (getting automatic name of current month and year), opening it and uploading from there ... it dont create additional albums

Unfortunatley our team has not been able to reproduce it yet so it is most likely some edge case. Can you turn on trace logs and watch/copy the docker logs when uploading the next time? This might give us a hint what could be the problem.

We found that when importing files with multiple threats, the same album could be created twice. I have added a mutex to prevent this in our latest preview build. Help with testing is much appreciated!
