Intel QSV: Add libvpl-dev as a replacement for libmfx-dev

Since the libmfx-dev package was removed from Ubuntu, QSV has stopped working on my 7th-gen Intel CPU.

This issue suggests that libvpl was meant as a replacement for libmfx. Adding this package might resolve the QSV problem.

Thanks for your suggestion! Could you test it by installing it manually with apt update and apt install libvpl-dev as root? See our documentation for instructions on how to open a terminal session with Docker Compose:

The previous error is gone, but the transcoding still fails. Is there something I can do to investigate it further?

Enabling trace log mode as explained in our documentation should log additional details, like the specific error. You need to check the Docker logs for this since the UI only shows Info, warning and error logs.

Ignore my last comment. I have previously enabled trace log and disable it after. So the same error remains even after installing libvpl-dev.

I've still added libvpl2 to the list of libraries to install, since it's small and shouldn't cause any problems:
