What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. passenger-install-nginx-module --auto --nginx-source-dir=/var/src/nginx-1.0.15
  2. Prompted for prefix and configure

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I feel that auto should do more than just confirm the prompt but should also use defaults for any options that were not provided (/opt/nginx for prefix and none for extra-configure-flags).

What version of Phusion Passenger are you using? Which version of Rails? On what operating system?

3.0.12 on Ubuntu 10.04

Please provide any additional information below.

Ran into this today configure passenger from chef where you are prompted for --extra-configure-flags when specifying --nginx-source-dir but not for --auto-download. Since you can use --extra-configure-flags with --auto-download and it just assumes the defaults, this should be the same for --nginx-source-dir. Would be good for --prefix as well.

--auto seems to imply it should be an unattended install, not just confirm of the enter to continue prompt.
