Migrated from http://bugs.rapiddisk.org/view.php?id=18:

Mark each RapidDisk volume with a UUID and have it work intelligently with the backup/restore process of the administration utility. Maybe append it as part of the string of the zlib binary archive.

After much time spent thinking about this, I don't know how relevant such a feature would be in current and future deployments. I will be closing the issue and if others believe in otherwise, we can definitely reopen for discussion.
