I've only recently started using this client and it is quite nice in many ways. I am not an expert on how it works but I have one issue that will likely turn me away to a different client if I am unable to get it addressed in some fashion.

Fairly frequently, perhaps once every thirty minutes or so, the client will stop displaying anything new that it should be receiving. Anywhere from 5-10 minutes later it will suddenly display everything that it had missed up until that point.

I am still able to type things in and send it to other people as if everything were perfectly fine. So, I am not sure what is going on.

I've encountered this on rare occassions - but I do mean rare, maybe a dozen times in a decade. And for me, it was just that text didn't come in until I switched back to Potato, then it would pour in (it didn't come in and trigger the 'new activity' alerts) - since you've said you can still enter text in the meantime, I suppose that's not the case for you?

On the odd occassions I've had it, it always seemed to happen to me after I'd changed windows to something full-screen (though certainly not every time I did so). Do you often switch to full-screen windows? Have you noticed anything else that always preceeds this happening?

While I do not switch to full screen while using it, I do have multiple tabs open. It is not impossible that you are correct and it is not registering the activity when I try to use it again. Maybe I need a button I can push that says "I'm here!".

I assume, then, that there is just an issue with it being able to differentiate between me utilizing multiple windows and thinking I am not actually using it anymore. Because last night it lacked activity enough to disconnect itself without warning.

Hrm, weird. Can I ask which game it is you're having the problem with? And is a MUSH or a MUD?

Star Wars: Age of Alliances, which is a MUSH.

I tried to install it on my laptop instead to see if it was just my computer, but the laptop has a 4k display and some weird settings that just screw the whole program up and make it really difficult to read anything, so that experiment didn't really work.

Edit: I ended up testing my laptop and it has the same problem. Either I have an issue with potato or its the game.
