During testing of Push Auth via iOS and Android some discrepancies were found. Push notifications were tested for the following items:

  1. Foreground notification
  2. Background notification
  3. Terminated application notification
  4. Respond to auth by tapping 'Allow' within the notification

The Android version worked properly under all 4 scenarios. The iOS version only worked for 1 and 2 (most of the time, occasionally the push notification seemed to be discarded). Item 3 always failed, and the button for Allow did not appear for 4.

I believe this is related to additions to the message payload that needs to be sent to Firebase for proper APNS functionality/delivery (silent vs alert, payload type, TTL, category, etc)
