Downloading the software

The ITHITOOLS software is available on Github, but the best way to install it on a Centos/Fedora or Ubuntu is to install the packaged version. On Centos/Fedora, using the new command "dnf" that replaced "yum", that means:

sudo dnf copr enable chuitema/ithitools
sudo dnf install ithitools

On Ubuntu, the package is downloaded as:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chuitema/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ithitools

If you install the packaged version, you will receive new versions of the software automatically as we package them, using the regular "update" process on Centos or on Ubuntu.

The package is only avalaible for the recent versions of Centos/Fedora and Ubuntu. We also verify that the tool correctly builds and that the tests succeed on Windows, and FreeBSD. On those systems, please download the sources from GitHub and build them as explained in the README.

The capture is best used in conjunction with DNSCAP, as explained here.
