This makes it possible to run Processing on ARM devices that use a 64-bit operating system.

Amongst the many reasons why this would be nice to have: it turns out that running the Raspberry Pi 3 with a dedicated 64-bit operating system is up to 43% faster compared to running it in 32-bit mode with the default Raspbian distribution (benchmarks). This is somewhat significant as one is generally struggling for performance on those systems, and I believe a lot of users will therefore want to explore those options eventually.

Guessing that most of the action (Raspberry Pi contenders, mainline operating system support, etc) will also be in the arm64 space in the time to come.
