I'd say in about 2 of 13 times (or something like that) wesnoth did shut down or turned unresponsive. I'll start counting from now on. :D

EDIT: (Do you mind telling me how to disable it?)

Right now the official count is at 2 of 22 times. I'll continue to update it about once per day.

You can create an empty file named base-maint.cfg in the Invasion_from_the_Unknown folder.

I've made @Vultraz aware of the issue, it's probably a race condition in the loading screen code. Nothing I can do about it to be honest. I'd rather make it as visible as possible so that it's fixed in the game.

1.14.3 will carry a fix that involves non-deterministic behaviour in the loadscreen resulting from image cache accesses from threads other than the main thread. It may or may not fix this (it's hard to know since unlike the situation with mainline that prompted that fix, I cannot reproduce the IftU crash despite having observed it in AtS once out of probably a hundred times).

It's not fixed, I just had a crash with AtS.

...2 times out of 7.

EDIT:
Someone is playing AtS for 1.14 right now and apparently the crash still happens.
