all in the /etc directory
group login.defs (probably not needed, but look it over) passwd
These are that need edit by root, before the user logs in.
after editing to change UID, then need to login into account, has to do this since it is encrypted, and run;
sudo chown -R <USER>:<USER> /usr/home/<USER>
reboot
this should work. never have had the opportunity to do this on an encrypted volume
