Proposal

Use case. Why is this important?
The alert page is static and does not reflect the current status of the alerts, a page refresh is needed to see alert active at the moment.
Instead of recurring to other tricks (like auto-refresh browser plugins), we could simply add a meta tag on the html template of the alert page.
One line change will improve the alert page effectiveness.

Thanks for this suggestion. I'm not sure we should be advocating the Prometheus status apis as a primary interface, they're more for debugging. We don't have such features in the expression browser either, leaving that to Grafana.

not a big fan of auto refresh. a bit annoying especially when you try to copy something from the page.

Don't see a big problem to hit refresh when you expect that something should have changed.

you could have a checkbox like "Enable query history" in the Graph page... but anyway it's not having success, close it :)
