What are you guys doing?

I am receiving tonns of notification emails about issues closing down due to noone writing in them.

They are all like this:

lock[bot] notifications@github.com | lock[bot] notifications@github.com | 13:46 (6 minutes ago)

This thread has been automatically locked since there has not been any recent activity after it was closed. Please open a new issue for related bugs.

This would go on for some time now for old issues (See #5392). Best you can do is add a filter to automatically archive emails from lock[bot].

Closing this as this is not an issue with Prometheus itself.

Well it's still a huge pain and I'm also being spammed with lockbot notifications and I expect it to be the same for others following the project. I think the best thing to do would be for someone to go and manually close all the issues that are older than 180days.

I'll do it tomorrow unless someone else volunteers.

It was not like that before. I was receiving emails only about on-going discussions and updates. But this - this is pure spam.

I agree that it might not be related to Prometheus and instead something the Github has changed.

@gouthamve Yes, I agree, I don't like the spam either. The bot is actually locking old closed issues, and not exactly closing open issues as far as I can see. I don't think you want to go over ~2k issues (which is just of prometheus/prometheus).

@SuperQ is it possible to reduce the frequency? Like some X number of issues to lock per day. That might reduce the effort to browse through relevant mails and all the closed issues will be locked eventually.

Or increase the frequency so that all issues are done at once and we don't have to delete mail dail (or set up extra filter rules). I am highly annoyed by these mails as well (although I understand the motivation for using the app).

I added a gmail filter for the closed emails and called it a day.
