Silently ignoring "misconfigured" slaves allows us to to have fully configured config_dev and config_prod in scm and only change parameters.inc for testing.

Setting user or dsn to "" will in effect skip the slave block.

Why don't you use the config_test.yml file?

We have a team of 3 working on a project, the prod setup consists of 1 master and 4 slave databases.

In test we have ex. 2 slaves

In our dev environment we do not have the same setup, for most parts we just have one db server.

But in both dev and test, we want to be able to test the site behavior for both _dev and _prod.

But if the _prod config contains the slave databases the setup breaks.

You won't notice any misconfigured slaves on your production, too, will you?

ah, no - we have resolved our issues, just forgot to close the pull request ... have now :)
