I have a problem with reading content of mail when it contains attachments.

Text content is missing when message is expanded. When message is collapsed, shortened version of text visible in top of message container. Check screenshoots for more details:

I'm using Thunderbird version 20.0a1 (2012-11-21) with Thunderbird Conversation 2.5.2

Sorry for none-english UI.

I think you need the latest development build from http://jonathan.xulforum.org/files/gcv-nightlies/

There was a change in gecko that broke Conversations...

OK, works perfect. Thanks for help.
Few more questions:

  1. Are you planing to release this fix in stable version?
  2. Does extension updater works for those development builds as well? Or should I do this manually time-to-time?

Yes it will be released eventually, but making a release takes such a
long time for me (mostly because of the horrible, horrible tool that is
Babelzilla) that I'm reluctant to make a release until the bug reaches
Thunderbird beta (I assume you're on Thunderbird earlybird).

The extension will not self-updated for these builds, but you'll update
to 2.5.3 when I release it.

Cheers,

jonathan

I also experience this trouble in Daily + Conversations 2.5.2, and would love to have a fixed version. I have not been able to access the "personal website" for development versions.

http://jonathan.xulforum.org/files/gcv-nightlies/

Is that "just me" in some way, or is there an alternative download site?

Can you not download this file

Negative. I haven't been able to reach xulforum.org since early this year
at least. After saying "Connecting to..." for a long time, Firefox
(Nightly) finally puts up an error page:

"The connection has timed out.
The server at jonathan.xulforum.org is taking too long to respond."

Safari does the equiv. Ping also fails to xulforum.org.

I used to pick up new copies of Conversations every few days -- because I
love it that much. ;-)

This is very surprising; I have no trouble accessing the website. Is
something wrong with your routes? How are you accessing the website? Is
something wrong with your ipv6 setup?

I'm not a network administrator so my bag of tricks and tests ends pretty
quickly. I access your site by going to Conversations' github home at
github, then I click the "at my personal site" link. That used to work
well and reliably -- until the day it stopped working. I'd always assumed
xulforum.org had died.

Here's what I have:

  • Macbook Pro, OS X latest version, wireless network to a cable modem. My
    cable company is my ISP.
  • Win 7 on my office PC on Indiana University's campus.

It's very standard stuff. I know this doesn't help much, but I don't have
this sort of trouble with any other site that I regularly want to visit.
And so far as I know, I don't have special routes or ipv6 configs on either
machine.

Here's what I see at a command line:

$ nslookup jonathan.xulforum.org
Server: 10.0.1.1
Address: 10.0.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
jonathan.xulforum.org canonical name = xulforum.org.
Name: xulforum.org
Address: 213.186.33.19

This means to me I know your IP. But I can't do anything with it (from the
Mac or from the Win7 machine on campus). Traceroute bombs out at step 8:

$ traceroute xulforum.org
traceroute to xulforum.org (213.186.33.19), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

Works fine for me using Fedora 18 beta (from the UK).

I have some new, bizarre data points to share, but no elegant workflow I'm
afraid.

  • I can reach xulforum.org from my iPad (Safari, wifi) and Android (4.02)
    phone (Firefox beta, wifi) from my house.
  • I cannot reach xulforum.org from my desktops or laptop, either from my
    home wifi or wired our campus.
  • I cannot reach xulforum.org from a Red Had (virtual) server machine in
    our campus data center using curl:

$ curl -v --url http://jonathan.xulforum.org

  • About to connect() to jonathan.xulforum.org port 80 (#0)
  • Trying 213.186.33.19... Connection timed out
  • couldn't connect to host
  • Closing connection #0
    curl: (7) couldn't connect to host

So that's the same as desktop Firefox nightly (and every other browser +
curl) telling me connections time out.

My workaround? Beta Firefox on the phone device, tap latest XPI and share,
email to myself, download. ;-)
