Is there a way to set a reply header when using Thunderbird Conversation ? It seems that it does not follow setting on mailnews.reply_header_authorwrote , mailnews.reply_header_ondate and so on .
It is an annoying issue for me - I'm using Polish version of Thunderbird, but most of the replies I send are to English speaking people. It's a shame they get Polish header , with Polish-specific letters, instead of English header I set for regular (non-conversation) replies.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

  • Conversations is not honoring these prefs. As far as I know, they're hidden from the UI in Thunderbird. I have limited time, so hidden options are not a priority for me to implement. That being said, it's probably trivial to do so if you're motivated: there's the StringBundle object, and the get(string, params) function that would probably do most of the hard work for you. It's just a matter of replacing the current method in content/stub.compose-ui.js:
          let quoteblock = // body already starts with a newline
            strings.get("quoteIntroString", [date, author]) + body;
  • Indeed, the current method is using a translated, fixed string that's packaged inside conversations (see above).

Cheers,
