It would be great if Psi supported OMEMO end-to-end encryption.

Should this be closed now that a plugin is available? (psi-im/plugins#29) Is additional support planned?

omemo.top lists this as done

I think it's better to make separate reports for every missed feature of omemo plugin

@Ri0n Is that a yes or a no? Should this ticket be closed? And which features are missing in the omemo plugin?

@stigger can tell us exactly what's going on. for some reason the plugin is still in "dev" directory and I don't understand why.

It does not yet support Carbons for example.

The plugin is in "dev" because I'm still working on it and don't consider it finished yet. Here is what I still have on my todo list:

  • carbons
  • openpgp compatibility issues
  • experience on first enable

After that I'll move the plugin to "generic/" and we will close this issue.

Good to know! I think most of the confusion came from the original ticket being closed: psi-im/plugins#10 (and omemo.top being updated to full support, which is actually incorrect at this moment in time, see bascht/omemo-top#97)

I think it's fine to move the plugin now since it already works and Psi release will wait till it's finished anyway.
"dev" stuff in plugins is rather for something not usable.

And it's easier to make a mailstone and add multiple issues to it here on github instead of keeping in mind the problems mentioned above.
