Fixes how we get settings from the microphone device interface and how those are used to configure the recording buffer.
This PR also makes thewrite()method on the internal recording buffer object more robust when audio sample arrays are mismatched in shape. We might not require those changes to thewritefunction since the changes I made ensure that the buffer is correctly set up on init.
