Twitter and StatusNet have a way for webmasters to link users to a page for posting a new Tweet/notice with specified content, such is the simplest of functionality necessary to make a share button. Either Pump.io lacks this functionality, or it's availability is not made clear in API.md.

For example:
Twitter has: https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=New+Tweet

And StatusNet / pre-Pump.io Identi.ca has:
http://identi.ca/index.php?action=newnotice&status_textarea=New+Dent

My existing share button, which should work fine for StatusNet sites with minor changes, is defunct for Identi.ca at the moment due to the migration to Pump.io. Since it appears a convenient way to search for notes by URL isn't available in Pump.io yet, I'm trying for a basic share button right now. But even functionality for which has turned out to be nonexistent.

And technically, this was solved a long time ago, by https://hip2.it =)

Granada seems to have more features, though.

@mama21mama @jankusanagi Source code, please?

Links to "walled-garden" private Pump.io instances aren't good examples. If Granada and company has solved the issue, I hope they're pushing their respective changes upstream.

@evanp Is this feature something that you would consider appropriate for the pump.io web interface or do you think it is out of scope?
