When you download a PGN file, you may be interested to play an endgame within that file. The endgame is not explicitly tagged for a game, so the idea is to find the first position where the remaining pieces have a certain pattern (KQk, KRkr...) and whatever the number of pawns.
A new game can be started from that position if it is found.
In case multiple patterns are found, the player may choose in a list the pattern he wants to play (each pattern has its own difficulty level).
The player can play for White or Black.
Thanks.

We can also imagine a right click from the database like this:
We can imagine a new tab in Learn that would propose various endgames from a loaded PGN.
etc...
The basic idea is simply to be able to replay one's endgame because in tournaments, we may miss an endgame by lack of time. So it is a way to learn based on real examples given by the player.
