Provide a function for progressing a loading bar

Within the user-scripts provide a function that can be used to display a "I am currently doing such n such" status message as well as a fractional number representing the current progress bar position.

That way in the user interface a loading bar can progress in response to the code as well as have a small status message under the loading bar.
