In particular, I would like to supply a default option via command-line for the following prompt:
What to do? (s)witch, (i)gnore, (w)ipe, (b)ackup

This prompt causes a problem for automated deployment, because one cannot update the URL for a package installed from VCS.

I eagerly want this feature also - I'll try to set some time aside this week
to try to put together a proposed patch. This is killing our automated
deployment as well.

Thanks!

As a workaround, you can use the 'yes' utility.

I have another patch in the #200 ticket which allows pattern-matching
rules to be passed in through the environment.

I'm pretty sure this is fixed now.

--exists-action.
