The opening sentence of the docs is poor:

virtualenv is a successor to workingenv, and an extension of virtual-python.

No one knows what workingenv or virtual-python are. The successorship was important when virtualenv was first released, but now virtualenv is the clear choice for these things, and people don't need this bit of historical trivia. The Ford Mustang is no longer marketed as the "successor to the Edsel".

Instead, move the first sentence of "What It Does" to the top:\

virtualenv is a tool to create isolated Python environments.

Sounds like a good idea.
