Reasons for the request

I'm the Founder & CEO at Ultralytics. I'd like to launch a "headless" version of our popular ultralytics package that uses opencv-python-headless instead of opencv-python.

I'm currently getting blocked from creating this package by a warning that says package name is too similar.

It looks like there is already a project named ultralyticsheadless (minus the dash). It looks like it is linked to your company. Have you tried contacting the owner of this package to see if they can make you a co-owner or is the owner of this package connected to your company? Let us know how you would like to proceed.

@Thespi-Brain thanks for the response. I was not aware of this package (there are many similarly named derivatives and copies out there) and we are not affiliated with this author.

The problem with these community efforts is they may not be maintained (https://pypi.org/project/ultralyticsheadless/ package was last updated 11 months ago) or unsupported, yet we still receive bug reports from them.

The main request for ultralytics-headless is to keep in line with the opencv-python-headless naming convention (with a - dash) which is widely known I believe. The effort is driven by community demand, i.e. https://community.ultralytics.com/t/opencv-python-and-opencv-python-headless/1022/5
