A method _create_formatter was introduced that is used for both the
log_cli_formatter and the log_formatter.

Consequences of this commit are:

  • Captured logs that are output for each failing test are formatted
    using the ColoredLevelFromatter.
  • caplog.text now contains ansi escape sequences.
  • The formatter used for writing to a file still uses the non-colored
    logging.Formatter class.
  • Target the master branch for bug fixes, documentation updates and trivial changes.
  • Target the features branch for new features and removals/deprecations.
  • Include documentation when adding new features.
  • Include new tests or update existing tests when applicable.

Unless your change is trivial or a small documentation fix (e.g., a typo or reword of a small section) please:

  • Create a new changelog file in the changelog folder, with a name like <ISSUE NUMBER>.<TYPE>.rst. See changelog/README.rst for details.
  • Add yourself to AUTHORS in alphabetical order;

I've just noticed that the ANSI escape sequences are also part of junit xml files now. I'm not sure if all tools that parse those files support ANSI escape sequences.

I do not think they should (have to) care about this.

As a consequence caplog.text contains the ANSI
escape sequences used for coloring the level names now.

I definitely don't think this is a good idea; users who use caplog.text definitely don't expect those ANSI escape sequences related to color there. How about creating a new attribute, say, colored_text?

SInce the log level colors are added internally, they should IMO not be exposed to the user via a caplog API. Therefore, I'll remove the ansi escape sequences from the text property, but I'll not add a colored_text property.

I had a look at the support of ANSI escape sequences in the junit plugin of jenkins: They are unfortunately not yet rendered correctly. I'll therefore remove the ansi escape sequences also from the generated junit files.

Edit: See https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/xUnit+Plugin?focusedCommentId=71434508#comment-71434508 (question from 2013 - no answer yet)

Merge #81
81: Update pytest to 4.6.1 r=rehandalal a=pyup-bot

This PR updates [pytest](https://pypi.org/project/pytest) from **4.5.0** to **4.6.1**.

<details>

Changelog

   ### 4.6.0
   ```
   =========================
Important
---------
The ``4.6.X`` series will be the last series to support **Python 2 and Python 3.4**.
For more details, see our `Python 2.7 and 3.4 support plan <https://docs.pytest.org/en/latest/py27-py34-deprecation.html>`__.
Features
--------
- `4559 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4559>`_: Added the ``junit_log_passing_tests`` ini value which can be used to enable or disable logging of passing test output in the Junit XML file.
- `4956 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4956>`_: pytester's ``testdir.spawn`` uses ``tmpdir`` as HOME/USERPROFILE directory.
- `5062 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5062>`_: Unroll calls to ``all`` to full for-loops with assertion rewriting for better failure messages, especially when using Generator Expressions.
- `5063 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5063>`_: Switch from ``pkg_resources`` to ``importlib-metadata`` for entrypoint detection for improved performance and import time.
- `5091 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5091>`_: The output for ini options in ``--help`` has been improved.
- `5269 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5269>`_: ``pytest.importorskip`` includes the ``ImportError`` now in the default ``reason``.
- `5311 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5311>`_: Captured logs that are output for each failing test are formatted using the
  ColoredLevelFormatter.
- `5312 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5312>`_: Improved formatting of multiline log messages in Python 3.
Bug Fixes
---------
- `2064 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/2064>`_: The debugging plugin imports the wrapped ``Pdb`` class (``--pdbcls``) on-demand now.
- `4908 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4908>`_: The ``pytest_enter_pdb`` hook gets called with post-mortem (``--pdb``).
- `5036 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5036>`_: Fix issue where fixtures dependent on other parametrized fixtures would be erroneously parametrized.
- `5256 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5256>`_: Handle internal error due to a lone surrogate unicode character not being representable in Jython.
- `5257 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5257>`_: Ensure that ``sys.stdout.mode`` does not include ``'b'`` as it is a text stream.
- `5278 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5278>`_: Pytest's internal python plugin can be disabled using ``-p no:python`` again.
- `5286 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5286>`_: Fix issue with ``disable_test_id_escaping_and_forfeit_all_rights_to_community_support`` option not working when using a list of test IDs in parametrized tests.
- `5330 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5330>`_: Show the test module being collected when emitting ``PytestCollectionWarning`` messages for
  test classes with ``__init__`` and ``__new__`` methods to make it easier to pin down the problem.
- `5333 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5333>`_: Fix regression in 4.5.0 with ``--lf`` not re-running all tests with known failures from non-selected tests.
Improved Documentation
----------------------
- `5250 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5250>`_: Expand docs on use of ``setenv`` and ``delenv`` with ``monkeypatch``.
### Update [cryptography](https://pypi.org/project/cryptography) from **2.6.1** to **2.7**.
<details>
Changelog
   ### 2.7
   ```
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* **BACKWARDS INCOMPATIBLE:** We no longer distribute 32-bit ``manylinux1``
  wheels. Continuing to produce them was a maintenance burden.
* **BACKWARDS INCOMPATIBLE:** Removed the
  ``cryptography.hazmat.primitives.mac.MACContext`` interface. The ``CMAC`` and
  ``HMAC`` APIs have not changed, but they are no longer registered as
  ``MACContext`` instances.
* Removed support for running our tests with ``setup.py test``. Users
  interested in running our tests can continue to follow the directions in our
  :doc:`development documentation</development/getting-started>`.
* Add support for :class:`~cryptography.hazmat.primitives.poly1305.Poly1305`
  when using OpenSSL 1.1.1 or newer.
* Support serialization with ``Encoding.OpenSSH`` and ``PublicFormat.OpenSSH``
  in
  :meth:`Ed25519PublicKey.public_bytes
  <cryptography.hazmat.primitives.asymmetric.ed25519.Ed25519PublicKey.public_bytes>`
  .
* Correctly allow passing a ``SubjectKeyIdentifier`` to
  :meth:`~cryptography.x509.AuthorityKeyIdentifier.from_issuer_subject_key_identifier`
  and deprecate passing an ``Extension`` object. The documentation always
  required ``SubjectKeyIdentifier`` but the implementation previously
  required an ``Extension``.
### Update [Django](https://pypi.org/project/Django) from **2.1.8** to **2.1.9**.
<details>
Changelog
   ### 2.1.9
   ```
   ============================

*June 3, 2019*

Django 2.1.9 fixes security issues in 2.1.8.

CVE-2019-12308: AdminURLFieldWidget XSS
---------------------------------------

The clickable "Current URL" link generated by ``AdminURLFieldWidget`` displayed
the provided value without validating it as a safe URL. Thus, an unvalidated
value stored in the database, or a value provided as a URL query parameter
payload, could result in an clickable JavaScript link.

``AdminURLFieldWidget`` now validates the provided value using
:class:`~django.core.validators.URLValidator` before displaying the clickable
link. You may customise the validator by passing a ``validator_class`` kwarg to
``AdminURLFieldWidget.__init__()``, e.g. when using
:attr:`~django.contrib.admin.ModelAdmin.formfield_overrides`.

Patched bundled jQuery for CVE-2019-11358: Prototype pollution
--------------------------------------------------------------

jQuery before 3.4.0, mishandles ``jQuery.extend(true, {}, ...)`` because of
``Object.prototype`` pollution. If an unsanitized source object contained an
enumerable ``__proto__`` property, it could extend the native
``Object.prototype``.

The bundled version of jQuery used by the Django admin has been patched to
allow for the ``select2`` library's use of ``jQuery.extend()``.

The ``4.6.X`` series will be the last series to support **Python 2 and Python 3.4**.

For more details, see our `Python 2.7 and 3.4 support plan <https://docs.pytest.org/en/latest/py27-py34-deprecation.html>`__.

Features
--------

- `4559 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4559>`_: Added the ``junit_log_passing_tests`` ini value which can be used to enable or disable logging of passing test output in the Junit XML file.

- `4956 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4956>`_: pytester's ``testdir.spawn`` uses ``tmpdir`` as HOME/USERPROFILE directory.

- `5062 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5062>`_: Unroll calls to ``all`` to full for-loops with assertion rewriting for better failure messages, especially when using Generator Expressions.

- `5063 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5063>`_: Switch from ``pkg_resources`` to ``importlib-metadata`` for entrypoint detection for improved performance and import time.

- `5091 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5091>`_: The output for ini options in ``--help`` has been improved.

- `5269 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5269>`_: ``pytest.importorskip`` includes the ``ImportError`` now in the default ``reason``.

- `5311 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5311>`_: Captured logs that are output for each failing test are formatted using the
  ColoredLevelFormatter.

- `5312 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5312>`_: Improved formatting of multiline log messages in Python 3.

Bug Fixes
---------

- `2064 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/2064>`_: The debugging plugin imports the wrapped ``Pdb`` class (``--pdbcls``) on-demand now.

- `4908 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/4908>`_: The ``pytest_enter_pdb`` hook gets called with post-mortem (``--pdb``).

- `5036 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5036>`_: Fix issue where fixtures dependent on other parametrized fixtures would be erroneously parametrized.

- `5256 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5256>`_: Handle internal error due to a lone surrogate unicode character not being representable in Jython.

- `5257 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5257>`_: Ensure that ``sys.stdout.mode`` does not include ``'b'`` as it is a text stream.

- `5278 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5278>`_: Pytest's internal python plugin can be disabled using ``-p no:python`` again.

- `5286 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5286>`_: Fix issue with ``disable_test_id_escaping_and_forfeit_all_rights_to_community_support`` option not working when using a list of test IDs in parametrized tests.

- `5330 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5330>`_: Show the test module being collected when emitting ``PytestCollectionWarning`` messages for
  test classes with ``__init__`` and ``__new__`` methods to make it easier to pin down the problem.

- `5333 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5333>`_: Fix regression in 4.5.0 with ``--lf`` not re-running all tests with known failures from non-selected tests.

Improved Documentation
----------------------

- `5250 <https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/5250>`_: Expand docs on use of ``setenv`` and ``delenv`` with ``monkeypatch``.

Edit Python module versions for development
Pytest and Sphinx were updated.

The Pytest contains change for log formatting [1]. This
change affected the indention of the logs captured with
the 'caplog'. The Logger() tests evaluated the output of
the logger with indentions which failed. The test should
be now more generic since the indention of the captured
log is now removed from asserted output. This would have
likely failed also previously if the test case filename
or the number of digits for the row number where the log
is printed would have changed.
