Author: Thamir Qadah Memcached DB Layer Implementation. This work is done for the project component for ECE595 course at Purdue University. We have extended the YCSB software to include a DB Layer for Memcached servers. This DB layer uses Spymemcached to interact with the Memcached servers. Building Instructions: Make sure that you have Git, Maven2 and Java installed. Also, make sure that you have Internet connection as Maven will download the dependencies. To download the project source: $ git clone https://github.com/qadahtm/YCSB-mc.git The source will be downloaded into a new directory “YCSB-mc”. Now, $ cd YCSB-mc Run the following command to build YCSB with the Memcached DB Layer only. $ mvn clean package -pl memcached -am Modify the workload file as desired. A sample is at ./workloads/workloada_mc Running a workload: Load Phase: bin/ycsb load memcached -P workloads/workloada_mc Run Phase: bin/ycsb run memcached -P workloads/workloada_mc Below is the Original README CONTENT Yahoo! Cloud System Benchmark (YCSB) ==================================== Links ----- http://wiki.github.com/brianfrankcooper/YCSB/ http://research.yahoo.com/Web_Information_Management/YCSB firstname.lastname@example.org Getting Started --------------- 1. Download the latest release of YCSB: wget https://github.com/downloads/brianfrankcooper/YCSB/ycsb-0.1.4.tar.gz tar xfvz ycsb-0.1.4 cd ycsb-0.1.4 2. Set up a database to benchmark. There is a README file under each binding directory. 3. Run YCSB command. bin/ycsb load basic -P workloads/workloada bin/ycsb run basic -P workloads/workloada Running the `ycsb` command without any argument will print the usage. See https://github.com/brianfrankcooper/YCSB/wiki/Running-a-Workload for a detailed documentation on how to run a workload. See https://github.com/brianfrankcooper/YCSB/wiki/Core-Properties for the list of available workload properties.
