qBittorrent version and Operating System

4.1.4 Windows 7 64bit

What to do exactly to update qbt to new version without need to use .exe Windows installer?
Is there any universal way that should be working into reasonable future?

My worry is about the uncertainty if qbt needs to work with configuration files (%appdata% folder) during the update or if i i just need to replace files in Program Files/qBittorrent folder.

Installer is smart: it detects installed qBittorrent version and just replaces files in "Porgram Files".
even when you try to uninstall it, it ask you what to do with configuration/data files.

so, update using installer is completely safe. I'm personally upgraded qBittorrent a lot of times, no any data loss happened.

in any case if you worry, just backup qBittorrent folders from AppData (both AppData/Local/qBittorrent and AppData/Roaming/qBittorrent) and see what happens with upgrade.

Thank you Kolcha, though i am still looking for manual (not using .exe installer) and safe way to update to new version.

Open the setup with 7ZIP and you will find everything required.
