qBittorrent version and Operating System

Windows 10 Version 1809
OS build 17763.379
qBittorrent version 4.1.5

What is the problem

I have moved my public desktop from the windows C: drive to a secondary drive D: (by right clicking the folder in File Explorer, going to the Location tab, and changing the letter C to D). However, when I ticked the box to automatically create a desktop shortcut, it was not placed in D:\Users\Public\Desktop but rather in C:\Users\Public\Desktop. The end result is that no shortcut was visible on my desktop (this happens often, so I anticipated the problem).

What is the expected behavior

The shortcut should be placed into the correct public desktop folder regardless if the folder has been moved to a different drive or a different location within the same drive.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Make a new folder on a drive other than C: that you intend to be the new public desktop.
  2. Right click on the public desktop folder in C: in File Explorer. Go to Location and change it to point to the new folder you created.
  3. Install qBittorrent, making sure you tick the box to place a shortcut on your desktop.

qbt installer relies on the $DESKTOP variable, so maybe you need to edit the registry too: http://programmaticallyspeaking.com/changing-the-user-profile-path-in-windows-7.html
