Please provide the following information

qBittorrent version and Operating System

4.3.4

What is the problem

Download is blocked as reported in #10045 and #12599. Furthermore, upon jumping through all the hoops, launching the installer is blocked by an even scarier red-background UAC dialog that states the program was blocked by Windows Defender and contains Trojan:Win32/Tilevn.A.

Note that the severe threat items reference the amsiuac process identifiers listed on the qBittorrent installer item, which had to be explicitly allowed in the first place.

What is the expected behavior

At least no scary virus dialogs.

Steps to reproduce

Download the 4.3.4 x64 installer from FOSShub and try running it on an updated Windows 10 machine.

Extra info(if any)

AFAIK signing the installer will alleviate all these issues.

FYI after I make release public on FossHub it automatically runs all files through virustotal.com and mails me a report. All AV suites there report all files as clean.
Probably, again, a false positive for Windows Defender. What a surprise.

Downloading from SourceForge does not trigger Windows Defender! I used the mirror link from the author's site (https://www.qbittorrent.org/) and no problems at all! But the FossHub download fails every time!

Hello,

It does the same thing. Try to download now. qBittorrent is uploaded directly by the author on both FossHub and SourceForge. The problem is not on our end - the download works fine.

Duplicate of #14489. Installers from both Fosshub and Sourceforge have the exact same cryptographic hashes, meaning the files are the same. Windows defender simply decided that torrent clients are now malware.
