Comments
I'm having the same issue as above. Windows 10 pro with 7600k |
Can confirm, same happened to me. No crash log present. Downgraded to 4.1.3 in the meantime. |

I just upgraded to 4.1.4 and it is crashing for me as well. Additionally, it will temporarily block WAN network traffic (only on the device qbittorrent is running on) until it closes out after crashing. Connecting to LAN resources will still work. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1803. My network card is an Intel 82579LM. |
same here.. ryzen build latest windows 10 version |
Same here on win10 home. I tried removing torrents and settings, then it can start properly. |
Same here, crash on startup. V4.1.4 x64. Rolling back... |
same here 2650LE Xeon cpu, win 10 pro 64 |
Yep, always crashes on startup for me. Reverting to 4.1.3 and it works. R7 1800x. W10 pro 1803. |
It seems that the issue is contained in Windows 10 and the 64bit builds. Due to the numerous instant reports I have deleted the 64bit version on FossHub and SourceForge. PS1:It works fine on my Windows 7 install. |
Damn it. Due to my sleepiness I deleted the 32bit version on FossHub. Oh well, I'll delete the 64bit version now, and only 4.1.3 will be available from FossHub. |
Can confirm. Windows 10 Version 1803 build 17134.407. Ryzen 1600 GTX 1060 6GB |
Confirmed here as well. This version is a bomb. Thankfully able to revert to 4.1.3 Windows 10. |
64 bit version didn't work, the 32 bit version works just fine. |
-x64 4.1.4 closing on startup Downgraded back to x64 4.1.3. |
Confirmed, v4.1.4 32-bit works. Windows 10. |
So either Qt is at fault (4.1.4 uses 5.11.2 while 4.1.3 uses 5.11.1) or openssl (4.1.4 uses 1.1.1 while 4.1.3 uses 1.1.0) |
Hi. Can anyone give me an original 64-bit version for testing? I built a 64bit version, but it is working fine on win10 1809 and 1803. |
FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY @Chocobo1 @glassez do you have Windows 10 machines? If yes, can you run the installer through WinDbg? @Lash78 see above. I smell subtle incompatibility of openssl 1.1.1 with Qt. The 1.1.1 series is considered different that the 1.1.0 series AFAIK. |
@sledgehammer999: i tried the original build and crashed right after start. my build is working fine. I used openssl 1.0.2p |
@Lash78 and which Qt version did you use? |
@sledgehammer999 QT 5.11.2 boost 1.68 libtorrent 1.1.11 |
x86 is working, x64 isn't |
I cannot reproduce the crash, probably not helpful because I have a nearly clean profile (no previous torrent jobs).
Personally I think you should stick with 1.0.2 series as listed here: https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_5.11_Tools_and_Versions |
Windows 10 Pro 64bit 4.1.4 downgrade to 4.1.3 works again. I tried checking to check my log and it says python not detected at all.
Meanwhile from my old 4.1.3 log I didn't found that
|
@AssasinCross Python should be detected on 4.1.4 and 4.1.3 too
|
@Lash78 I actually forgot to put that one is from the original qBittorrent. |

A quick news item would have been nice to stop people from looking pointlessly for the new version. |
11/19/2018 03:51 - Options were saved successfully. The 32 bit version of qBittorrent 4.1.4 on Windows 10 pro 64 ^^ |
For me it crashes aswell on startup of the program, after updating to 4.1.4 |
me too ,1809 |
Windows 10 Pro Build 1809 crashes on start, downgrade to 4.1.3 works again. |
I think there has been enough messages on "me too, confirmed, crashes". |
Can confirm that test build starts and can download on my machine, Windows 10 x64 1709, no crash. |
test build works! |
This test build corrected the crash behavior I was seeing originally (Windows 10 x64). |
Might want to have a machine running 10 for testing/development in future, most of us are running 10 now, is it openssl that's actually at fault or how Qbittorrent utilizes it? |
The new installer is now published on the main site along with the 32bit one. |
qBittorrent version and Operating System
v4.1.4 / Windows 10 Home (version 1809/build 17763.134), 64-bit
If on Linux, libtorrent and Qt version
Qt
What is the problem
qBittorrent crashes when attempting to run it. Shows up in the tray briefly but disappears a few seconds later. Also, no log file is created by qBt.
What is the expected behavior
The program starting up and the UI appearing as normal.
Steps to reproduce
Extra info(if any)
Tried rebooting and making sure all qbittorrent processes were closed before trying again.
Also, the CPU i'm running on in case it helps any is an i7 6700K.
For now, I've downgraded back to 4.1.3, where the problem does not occur.
