*map raster files not supported QGIS 3.44

What is the bug or the crash?

In all previous versions I have had no issue importing/opening *.map raster files, I don't seem to be able to do this, I get a *.map is not a supported raster format

Steps to reproduce the issue

go to 'layer, add layer'
click on 'add raster layer'
select desired file
error unsupported data source

@OzDirtMiner, please provide the full QGIS version info as requested in the issue report form (<<In the QGIS Help menu -> About, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button, then paste here.>>).
Please specify which raster format is exactly the .map file. If possible please provide a sample .map file.

This system does not let me copy & paste or drop the files here, it says .MAP file not supported so I have appended the information from the layer properties from version 3.42 see last info below. These files have worked with no issues for all previous versions I have used. I can email the files if needed, just need an address

@OzDirtMiner , thanks. You could just put the OziExplorer MAP layer file(s) in a zip archive file and attach the .zip file in a comment.

Probably related to upstream change OSGeo/gdal#11684 which removed the supporto of OZI OZF2/OZFX3 raster format since GDAL/OGR 3.11.0. Ping @rouault.

These two files work in the earlier versions for the Zone 49 map, as small area on the Western Australia coast.

As mentioned before, the GDAL/OGR library no longer support such raster format since version 3.11.0.
Please see OSGeo/gdal#11684.

I use 3.42.0 and these files work and have done in all previous versions I have used starting way back in the 2.* versions and I have upgraded QGIS regularly. The only version they have not worked in is the current download 3.44.1 If thes files are no longer supported I will stay with the version that works for me. Regards Jeff

@OzDirtMiner, QGIS uses the GDAL/OGR library in order to read the OziExplorer OZFX3 format. The GDAL/OGR library no longer supports such format since GDAL/OGR version 3.11.
On Windows, QGIS 3.42.0 used GDAL/OGR 3.10, thus it was able to read such format; QGIS 3.44.1 uses GDAL/OGR 3.11, thus it is unable to read such format.
If you want that the following versions of GDAL/OGR and QGIS were able to read such format, you could try to ask the GDAL/OGR developers at https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/issues or https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/gdal-dev.
