(QS B61, Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard)

To reproduce the bug, do the following:

  1. Open QS's preference window with command-, while invoking QS.
  2. Close this preference window (indicating no desire to see it again).
  3. Invoke QS and press command-control-q to restart it.

Upon restart, QS will open the preference window again. This behavior also occurs without step 2, which is probably okay since this just so happens to be the direction Apple is moving Mac apps in (probably a coincidence; I think I have been noticing this bug long before the announcement of Lion). With step 2, this can be a considered to be minor annoyance.

Not a big deal, but fixing this bug could bring QS a significant step closer to a stable release in my eyes.

Yeah, I get this all the time too. Annoying.

Many apps have done things to restore their state for a long time. I think this was actually done on purpose in QS, and what we’re seeing is a bug in that behavior.

I was thinking of that too, then I failed to consider the use cases where it would be useful. Come to think of it, I guess it could be really helpful for troubleshooting/experimenting with prefs.
