Can check use --as-cran option?

Just used release() to submit a package to cran, which passed check but trigged a note in cran's check; (apparently I had partial matching of some function variables). Can release() invoke this option when it calls check?

It will when 2.14 comes out. But also note that CRAN runs R-devel.
