  1. Turn on auto-fill-mode when activating the mode

    raek committed May 15, 2012
The auto-fill-mode will automatically reflow lines during editing when
    the lines become too long.
  2. Set fill column to 72 when entering the mode

    raek committed May 15, 2012
Limiting lines to 72 characters is a common convention and a resonable
default for the fill-column variable when editing commit messages.

  1. Run re-search-forward for git diff with noerror=t.

    dato committed Mar 1, 2011
This ensures the rest of git-commit-mode (e.g., run-mode-hooks) will
successfully run even if no git diff was found.

jd authored and rafl committed Jan 26, 2011

    diff-mode.

  1. Use macros to expand the almost identical defuns

    kanru committed Dec 1, 2010
This was inspired by the rafl/func-gen branch. Instead of using a
procedure to generate those functions, here the macro system seems to
    be the right tool.

  2. Use run-mode-hooks instead of run-hooks

    rafl committed Dec 1, 2010
    This way after-change-major-mode-hook runs properly.
  3. Put the pseudo headers apart from summary line

    kanru committed Dec 1, 2010
Since kernel style commit message will have <subsystem>: <summary>
summary line format, don't be confused with pseudo headers.

  4. Check `session-mode-disable-list' before using it
