I'm not sure what the issue, but here's an example from the Bradley-Terry post (issue not limited to R code):

The issue seems to be for syntax highlighting for the R and YAML.

Example:

{{< highlight r >}}
x <- rnorm(10)
{{< / highlight >}}

would highlight with white like above.

Removing r from the highlight syntax doesn't work (code doesn't render at all). As a workaround, I'm gonna replace {{< highlight r >}} with {{< highlight bash >}} everywhere.

An alternative is to use backticks as in (spaces added between ` to render):

` ` `
x <- rnorm(10)
` ` `
