Actual Behavior

Rancher Desktop UI is broken when running on native Wayland mode. The broken components are:

  • The app window has no frame and can't be moved around.
  • The app's popup window has no frame and can't be moved around.
  • The app window's icon (when switching apps) is not shown correctly.
  • The app details (showing at the GNOME's top panel) are missing.

These UI issues are when running on native Wayland mode, as shown in the screen recording below.

Steps to Reproduce

Running the app in native Wayland mode by:

rancher-desktop --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland

Result

2022-09-23.22-24-54.mp4

Expected Behavior

The app should work without any of the issues above on native Wayland mode.

Additional Information

Running the app on XWayland is not a feasible option as the app will be extremely blurry.

This will require more investigation so I'm posting some info after a cursory look. This seems to have been encountered in vscode in the past and looks to be an issue with Gnome/Wayland/Electron:
