- Lines of dialogue are placed inside
""quotations. If you want to use quotations inside the dialogue use''.
"Dialogue line."
"Dialogue line with a 'quotation'"- Each line of text should be limited to approximately 75 characters long. You can do longer lines if there's no other option, but note that readers usually skip long lines of text.
- You can make comments for me in the script by prefacing it with
# TODO:
"Dialogue line" # TODO Please revise this line.- You can use the following symbols:
{heart},{music}.
"Bye, dear. {heart}" # Note: An image of a heart (❤️) appears.
"What a good day, la la la. {music}." # Note: An image of a music note (🎵) appears.- Everything is case-sensitive.
Aikoandaikoare not the same.
For easy script navigation for us and the readers, each scene must begin with a title and a short description of what is about. It should be placed at the very top of the scene as a comment (using #), like this:
# Title (Use Title Case)
# DescriptionExample:
# Couple Conversation
# Aiko and Hitoshi have a pleasant conversation. Each scene correspond to one file, using the following nomenclature and file extension:
snr_001_scene_title.rpy
Example:
snr_001_married_talk.rpy
snr_002_to_the_office.rpy
snr_003_back_home.rpy
Each time the location or time changes, write: scene bg <location> <time>.
In the background folder, you'll find available locations. Names should exactly match.
The time of day available to choose are: morning, afternoon, night.
