The raspberry then continues to boot up with no problems.
Upgrade your kernel to 3.8.4 i.e shuold solve the issue as it contains some more SDHC dwc_otg patches.
My of SHDC/ SHDX 16-64G cards runs fine with that :
apt-get install git-core
sudo wget http://goo.gl/1BOfJ -O /usr/bin/rpi-update && sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/rpi-update
sudo rpi-update 2c4e92c01ff14d8f3e1ee35b995d430b4e6d1e1b
NOTE : This seems an Pre-release (TEST) Firmware and may able to contain unfinished code - be warned - use on your own risk.
see https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware, https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-update as reverence
@remsnet Is this checkout still the latest pre-release firmware, or is there any "new" version including all these patches? Thanks a lot!
