The Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (RDA Edition) is an open and freely available standard. As such, the RBMS RDA Editorial Group has chosen to use fonts licensed under the Open Font License.

If the following preferred fonts are not available, your local system will default to other suitable fonts.

Text font

The RBMS RDA Editorial Group chose Lora to display the DCRMR text. Lora is an open source font optimized for screen appearance, and works equally well in print. The font is available for free download (Lora download).

Examples font

The RBMS RDA Editorial Group chose IBM Plex Sans to display the DCRMR examples. IBM Plex Sans is an open source font optimized for excellent legibility in print, web and mobile interfaces. IBM Plex Sans distinguishes between easily confused letterforms such as lowercase L and uppercase I. The font is available for free download (IBM Plex Sans download).

Instructions for font installation will vary by operating system.
