Hmm I may be able to "check if the file was pre-cached, and, if so, lazy-load rubygems, or cache it's bin_path perhaps?"

I think this is possible...hmm...might speed up jruby users quite a bit...could tell by timing rake installed versus rake as gem...hmm...
