Expected Behaviour

Page should advance when Media Overlay plays on a new page.

Observed behaviour

Stays on the same page even though speaking and highlighting have moved to a new page.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the sample EPUB, here
  2. Start it playing
  3. Wait til highlighting and speaking reach the end of the page
  4. Should turn the page, but it doesn't

Test file(s)

Sample file is here.

Product

Choose one of the following (and delete the others)

  • Readium Chrome extension
    • latest official version available from the Chrome Web Store, 2.23.0 on OSX 10.11

Additional information

iBooks shows the same (incorrect) behaviour

I am able to reproduce this bug. Another test is to turn a page while Media Overlay playback is active: the audio position is not reset to the first visible text fragment in the page. Instead, playback restarts at the beginning of the spine item.
This sounds like a CFI regression bug. In my tests, Media Overlays playback works fine with LTR (Left To Right) HWM (Horizontal Writing Mode) HTML documents.
